Wtb amp for jl 10w6

Hello everyone. Recently got my jl 10w6 and jl 500/1 installed. Installer told me the jl amp was going in and out and I needed to send it back to jl... Jl said it will cost atleast $240 to repair...

Wondering if anyone had an amp that was compatible w the subwoofer for a reasonable price or if anyone could rec. a good amp. Thank you.

The JL amp does require a strong ground to work properly ...depending on vehicle you may have to run a the same size ground wire to your battery as your power wire ..for that amp you’ll need 4ga power and ground and use real copper wire not that aluminum Chinese crap ...

That's for every amp, not JL alone. Do you run diff gauge wiring for power and ground?

Depends on amp and power if in a truck you can pull a quality 4g to the battery and drop an 8g to the frame below ..they will still pull about the same resistance the 4g is about 17ft and the 8g is only 3ft or so to the frame

It is NOT ideal to run 2 diff gauge wire for any amp, any vehicle. Bad call, bad info. And some amps are sensitive about that.
