Wrapping The Box

Alright, got my box out to Seal it with some caulk and my dad suggested I go ahead and wrap it. So we went out but couldnt find any carpet at a reasonable price. But I found some rather interesting vinyl at $4.00 a yard so I grabbed 2 yards of it. I havent wrapped it yet because the paint and silicon are still drying. But I just wanting yalls opinions on boxes wrapped it vinyl. I'll have pictures up as soon as I finish everything.

Alright man i've told someone this on here before but ill tell ya make stress cut's to wrap the corner's first u an adhesive on the corners make sure that there glued down , then after that begin to wrap around the back of the box that way so when you are done you will not have your seam in the back you will either have it in the back or on the bottom of the box and it's vinyl your working with so will be easier to line up with the other piece so u won't notice the seam as much.

The way Im going to wrap it is wrapping the front/back/top/bottom as one piece then 2 side pieces. This should work fine because you can't see the side of my box because my trunk is narrower in the back than up front.

Moreless curious about what people think of vinyl wrapped boxes. Im still a little leary on wrapping it right now but Im only only $8 if it looks bad.

When done right, and depending on the style of the car, and what kind of vinyl... its either really cool, or really gay.

Its a gray vinyl with sort of a raised/cracked look to it. My car is a 92' Sentra. Everything in it is gray. I'll have pics when Im done. Im going to go ahead and wrap it. I personally think it'll look better than painted flat black though.

i personally dont bother wrapping parts of an enclosure that are not going to be visible ......it makes wrapping the box a whole hell of alot easier....also the vinyl itself can make the job difficult no idea what kind you have or where ya got it but drakefords has some killer stretchy vinyl for about $7 a yard

Sup WorldDre...remember the guy in the green hoodie considering 4g wire today? That was me. Didn't get the wire because I really needed to fix the box first just in terms of getting it sealed up right and building an amp rack. But I'll be back, I buy from you guys over getting it cheaper on the internet just because yall are so helpful.

Here's the rest. Its kind of hard to tell what exactly the vinyl looks like but its alright. A lot better than bare box anyways.

I see that now in the pictures. Edges are complete crap. Really didn't want to use staples but the **** glue wasnt holding. I'll definently be finding some carpet.

you kinda have to build the box right/different , to be able to vinyl it and make it look good. you also need the box Really Really smooth. then you need a streachy vinyl, and a heat gun. need to use spray glue, spray both teh box and the vinyl, let dry(tacky) then apply it.

Yeah, this was definently on a whim. Like I said, I wasnt even going to carpet when I started out today. Was originally going to just get some caulk and if I had enough money left over, upgrade to 4g wire. Good thing is Im only out $8 for the vinyl.
