175 watts on a sub isnt hard on the ears at all and I am only a year younger than you,...............

I got 1000+ watts on a single 12 and its fun but no where near what these kids are doing-who by the way will all be deaf by the time they hit our age:laugh:

However its my opinion that high powered systems need to sound good not nes. just loud......

LOL.........thanks!!! I know what you are saying. There is a girl that lives across the street, and I shit you not, you can hear her music and bass clearly from my kitchen.....and its at the back of my house.

hmm I was doing 147 daily and it wasnt that bad. So maybe 150+ or 155+ is loud

yea I was doing a 144-145 with my 2 12" idmax's and 2000 watts in my supercab truck, it wasnt bad at all, Id guess 150-155 for a DD would be nice though, my van cant be a DD(not until I get the suspension upgraded some more) but its fun to take it out on a drive and to go to shows with

I say around 148ish is loud enough for a Daily Driver......when i get older im sure that that number will decrease

yep, sometimes I hear cars that there is noway you can realistically enjoy the music being played inside the car......and I do like my music louder than the average person.

im 17 years old and still dont care to crank it up all the way when im just driving around there is basically no point when all you hear is bass unless your trying to impress the ladies then you crank it

In my opinion, a couple of ported 10's in a well built box with a good port, tuned low is loud enough for daily driving.

I'm debating on going with 10's or 12's because sometimes I really like to crank it, but the amount of SPL you can get out of 2 10's is quite sufficient for 99% of listeners out there.
