Wow, SQ competition last weekend...help!

X a million. I have been into SQ for about a year now. You have to drop a lot of money and not settle for something that is cheaper. Also make sure all your music is not compressed like mp3 or wma format make sure it is the original uncompressed format. A lot of people including myself like audison amps but there is also image dynamics that is great. ID Q subs are your friend IMO the 12's are awesome. And active is your friend as well. Finally tuning tuning tuning and placement of the speakers is crucial. You also need to figure out if you are going to run on or off axis. Hit me up if you want to chat more.

It doesn't take that much money until you get to an elite competition level but for a really good sounding daily system you don't have to spend much (around $1500 is pretty normal for a system right? And depending on how much work you do yourself). Diymobileaudio.com is a good place to start researching and check out the build logs there. Processing and deadening are probably the most expensive things to deal with, it was for me anyway. Good luck, and prepare to get hooked and spend a lot more money trying to perfect the sound with more processing and drivers...

I need some help here....i need amps, speakers, subs...insight! List some good stuff please! I didnt see any Kicker, Rockford, or any of that at this competition. I really like the Image Dynamic car and all the Hertz cars the most but the Sonics Excelence car was good too.
