I LOLed at this post for...like..half an hour!! "...windows, too."As for the OP, it's apparent that you wat to buy your way to SQ. Many have said research. And, it's apparent you're in a hurry. So, you can either slow down, and learn first, OR...buy a few of the things you think you want, and throw them in your car. After you figure out that your car doesn't sound like the ones you liked at the competition, you will then have taken your first step to learning....the hard way.
Focusing on brand names insn't necessarily bad. It's just that so many of us know the old axioms, like..."A good install can make a bad speaker sound decent. And, a bad install can make a good speaker sound bad." Buying good components, by name, will not necessarily give you the good sound you are looking for. Knowing the reputation of a component helps. Knowing a component's design parameters helps. Knowing the physics of sound helps. Knowing these things, AND MORE, will help you to avoid buying what you DON'T NEED, as much as what you do need.
