Wow I get a huge discount on the type r's

Well, let's see, just today I got back from my local audio shop, the guy there had just finished cutting apart a 12" type-x. I pulled out the cone and looked at the (fried) VC, and took special interest in the plastic bracing behind the cone, which looked like it belonged on something from roadmaster. To top it all off, it had been blown by one of those new stackable Alpine amps that put out about the same power that I had running to a 12" CVR for FIVE MONTHS before it blew. Not to mention that the Type-R's do just about everything they do as good or better and seem to be more reliable... I just don't see why the X's exist...

''one of those new stackable alpine amps'' are rated @ 2006 cea standards fyi

he would have been using this amp>>

and since you ''say'' ran 1000RMS watts into a single entry level 12'' cvr for 5 months i highly doubt your story here

Yes that's the amp and what I told you is what my car shop guy told me happened. And I actually ran 1200 watts on TWO 12" CVRs, one per side. One lasted three months, the other lasted five and since I'm not 14 years old, I don't really care if you believe me so have a nice day.

Oh and I bet you'll LOVE this statement, I hit 148 db on an AC, in a ported box tuned to 30hz. Bet you won't believe that at all....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Also, about the Type-X, my shop guy also told me that they've sold six of them, and gotten six of them back blown.

Hmmmmmm....
