blau's head units are good. if that's the feature you want, then that head unit will be good. the speakers are just ok as stated by many. i believe you needed 6.5's and 5.25's correct? the only question is the mounting depth. measure what you have in the door and buy accordingly. if you don't want a sub, go with a better brand than blau speakers. you're fine with the blau head units.

OK, I am thinking I might just stay with these speakers and see how they do (Can always return them later).

I was thinking... that HU is $70. All the stuff I need (brackets, wiring, etc) is another $40. Thats $110 just to get the receiver up and running (the speaker's brackets and everything was free).

If you buy $130, they send you all that stuff for free. So basically, for $20 more, you basically end up getting a $40 price break.

So around in that $130 area from crutchfield what would you think?

Found a couple more possibilities. I like this one because it has an AUX input on the front:

Sony CDX-GT510

It says "The Dynamic Soundstage Organizer adds presence and life to your music by raising the soundstage up to ear level — especially effective if your front speakers are mounted near the floor." Do any of you know what this does? This a good thing or just an overlyhyped feature (like something else Sony recently released, lol)?

I do like this one for the multicolor display (I like some of the more flashy stuff, but obviously its not nessesary if I end up throwing away other, more important options):

Pioneer DEH-P4800MP

I like the display here, as well as the motorized design:

Panasonic MXE Series CQ-C5403U

Once again, I like this one for the front AUX input. But the display seems like it wont show very much info.

Kenwood KDC-MP2035

So what would be the audio equals to something like cars?Obviously American-made anything is pretty much crap, but then Toyota/Honda is pretty good quality, and BMW at the top of the line (Without going into things like Porshe, etc... I am talking common things). So in much the same way, what is the equivalent brands for audio stuff? I am just curious what brands offer the best for the $$, was wanting a list of what brands are generally better than others so I can do more looking around.

Ford is probably the better of them, Dodge has a car or two that rank pretty well (I am going off Consumer Reports as well as past experiances... they both agree with each other), one I actually wouldn't mind having someday (the Magnum).

And all I can say is most imported anything is better than most domestic anything, lol.

I really just dont know what to get! I think I have settled on the speakers, as I had said, I will try them out and see if I like it or not.

But right now I am looking at other HU. The Blau is $110 (after all the stuff I need to install it), whereas if I go $130 I get all that free. So I am thinking I would get a better deal paying an extra $20 and getting it all free.

OK Guys, I am really liking this Sony. I love the front Aux input. I also love this little feature which is described here:

I find this funny. Everybody bashes Blaupunkt wihtout stating "I had model X, and I don't recommend the brand because....." How many of you have actually owned Blaupunkt gear that can state fact from experience?
