Would appreciate some help

I just bought my first car about a month ago, and just got my license yesterday (I am 20, pretty embarrassing). I like music a lot, and would like to increase the quality and volume of the music I hear in my car. My car (1996 Saturn sl2) came with stock speakers and stereo, which I have done my best to upgrade with the budget I have.

First, I purchased a Pioneer stereo for $65 at Best Buy

Pioneer - 50W x 4 MOSFET In-Dash CD Deck

Model: DEH-150MP SKU: 6238551

50 watts maximum power x 4 channels (14 watts RMS)

I have it installed in my car and have been listening to it for a few weeks now. My next door neighbor was strapped for cash and sold me some of his car speakers for 25$ (Even if I didnt need them I would have bought them. He is a nice guy)

Sony XS-R1641 6-1/2" 4-way Speakers

Peak: 220 watts , RMS: 45 watts

1-5/8" Midrange Balance Dome

4 ohms impedance

I replaced my front two (door) stock speakers with these Sony speakers. They sound pretty good for what they cost, in my opinion.

I can get my cheap car pretty loud before I start noticing distortion from the front two speakers. My back speakers are pretty crappy, and are very annoying when music with heavy bass is on.

(I would also like to increase my bass capabilities if possible)

I was planning on buying some replacement rear speakers for my car (do not plan on spending more than 30$ on ebay for them). Then I realized that Amps on ebay are only 12-30$.

I do understand that I may sound dumb for trying to spend such a small amount of money on something that should require more, so I do apologize.

Originally, I was just going to ONLY replace the back speakers so they wont sound so bad when having my music up, but decided I would like my front speakers a bit louder and clearer as well. Would anyone mind helping me to understand what exactly I should do? (also please explain why)

Overall, I do not want to spend more than 60$ on the amp + rear speakers.

Thanks!

What if hypothetically was going to spend 60-150? What would be what I am trying to do? My dad says I should only hook up my back speakers to an amp (a 2 way amp), but I feel as though a 4 way would be better. But I honestly do not have any idea. If I were to get an amp and back speakers, what kind kind of specs am I looking at? (Watts/RMS/Max Watt Output/anything else I might need to know). Please and thank you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

now you are getting somewhere..here is a buyout through Parts Express on some decent class A/B amps:

Aura RPM4200 RPM Stage 2 Mobile Amplifier 4x50W 269-190

hmm....I cannot attest to the quality, but for the price, it would be well worth it to try these out...soft dome tweets, good power handling. I would try these up fron and move the sony's to the rear:

Lanzar MX6C 6-1/2" 200 Watt 2-Way Component Speaker System 267-7172

or possibly run this on the front speakers and leave the rears on HU power:

Alright. I really do appreciate that you tried to help. Thank you. Have a great life //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
