Would a WALL be pointless if I have a sunroof and dbeez would get thru the headliner?

Thinking of walling my pathfinder, but I have a moonroof in my car so my headliner has the cutout for it, if I were to wall behind the first row , deeebeeeez would have free and open access up there and back behind my wall and beauty panels

Does this make the wall pointless??

oh cracking my passenger window definetely adds to the ear dbz lol

I just mean its gonna be a ***** to put a wall in, but Im willing, but not if I would see no gains over doing sub up port back with the same euipment (its an suv)

alll to the ear ofcourse

A wall does one main thing: decreases air space in passenger compartment the stereo/subs must compress. Not sealing the wall off (so pressure could escape behind it) means its not really a 'wall' install. Like someone else above said, that would just make it an excessively large custom box.

Your moonroof thing shouldn't really affect your decision to wall or not. If pressure will escape out the moonroof/sunroof/wetf it is, then it is already escaping out it now. Sure, a proper wall install will increase air pressure, and allow more to escape, but this is not the wall's fault, and the most direct way to fix that problem would be to tackle the leaky roof directly.

Based on your questions, your concern over doing the work, and that this is a daily driver... my best guess is a wall isn't for you.

Well Ive had "walls" in this car before, but Ive never thought about the air going up into the headliner and past the box via the headliner opening.

Im just curious is there will be a TO THE EAR gain going with a wall over subs up port back...

or even subs up port forward??

What would be best proof??

It has been proven that is not the case. Subwoofers compressing the air in the passenger is not what creates sound pressure. If it were, we'd all run sealed boxes with high xmax. Vehicles are so loud because they accomodate 1/2 and 1/4 wavelengths of sub bass frequencies very well. A wall helps reduce cancellation from the rear of the cabin, but also changes the resonant frequency.
