Would a fiberglass box be lighter than a MDF box

Remember, fiberglass isnt as strong as MDF in big flat areas so if there are a lot of spots like that, then the amount of fiberglass required to make it as durable would make it really heavy and expensive.

we quit carrying mdf, and went to trupan. Dont know why really, it costs more to buy, but i would imagine it saves a little on shipping and such.

Birch ply is 2x the cost of MDF here.
