Worth building a new box?

i have a single RE audio se 15 in a 3.5ft^3 box tuned to 35 hz. would it be worth it to build a new box to 4ft^3 tuned to 35 hz?

I doubt you could tell a difference.

im thinking. build it so after all displacement it will be about 4.25ft^3. double baffle, and fiberglass resin the inside, and brace. current box is just single baffle, and no resin.

It seems like a lot of work for not much improvement in my opinion.

I think it will show some iprove

ents one cause it has more volume thus low tuning.

Anytime you change volume your tuning will change but tome I say build an I bet you will notice a difference in the lows.

well i think being a little bigger, having the fiberglass resin, and double baffle would help a little bit. the resin makes it smoother, seals the mdf from breathing, and maybe makes it a little stronger.

well right now my box is 3.5 cubic ft tuned to 35 hz but its made out of particle board, because the closest place to buy MDF is around here is 50 miles away.

so would it be better to buy a sheet or two of MDF, build a new box and add a double baffle?

it will make a difference. using mdf instead of partical board, and raising volume by 1/2 cube will most definately make an audible difference. that is assuming that the sub is optimal in 4 cubes. i've never ran the numbers on it. even 1/4 cube one way or another can change the subs performance in ported boxes. sealed, not as much.
