Work out supplements.. what do you take?

i am new here and kinda happened on this post so i thought, what the hell.....i'll throw my two cents in.....mind you i am new HERE, but i do this whole workout, bodybuilding thing for a living....sooooo...let me enlighten some of you....
1. dont believe NOTHING you read, or see in magazines or even on some of the sites like bb.com.......they are advertising machines....their whole point is to get you to BUY something......and preferrably what THEY are selling.....and yes....i own a store too and sell this shit too.....because some people just wont listen to reason!!!!! same as best buy selling dynamat to dummies.....they just dont wanna listen....there are better options cheaper.....but hey....its your choice...

2. The ONLY supplements you really need are, PROTIEN, because more than likely your just not going to get enough from your daily meals....its freaking HARD!! I"m a nat level bb'er and i have all day to cook and i still cant get that stuff in without a shake or two, a good MULTIVITAMIN, and GLUTAMINE

3. At the end of the day it dont matter if you are taking nan050000 whatever, or STEROIDS, if your diet aint on point then your not really going to get anywhere...you may gain some "bloat" but that aint muscle son.....

thats about it.....it really is pretty simple....i use the same approach with all my clients that i train and all of them make great progress...

if you ONLY take one thing from this post, take this......

"Supplements are called supplements, because they are supposed to SUPPLEMENT your **** diet....not build it....and before you can even BUY the right supplements you need to know exactly where to SUPPLEMENT!!!

yeah...i think thats it....be smart....you dont put a high spl sub in a cardboard box enclosure and expect it to sound good????

you type too much

Despite his long post, I agree with 88txswol.

Yeah, I too am I'm a forum newb, but I've been weight training for 12 years.

Protein is all you need to supplement. Find one that you like and that works for you. But make sure you are getting all you can from clean, natural food first.

Same with the addition of protein. Have your results changed with the stoppage of supplements?
I also supplement with Whey Protein (Dymatize Elite Whey: Caffe Mocha -- DELICIOUS in water OR milk), which I find "natural".

My gains are great right now, maybe not QUITE as good as before, but i'm not taking a thousand different things a day, and being natural obviously isn't "bad" for you like some of the supplements might be. I just eat FAIRLY healthy, get my daily cardio in, and get a lot of protein ESPECIALLY around my workout. I say that with a proper diet (and I mean PROPER), and a good, consistent workout regime, you can keep up with the supplement-heads (except for maybe the 'roiders).

- The creatine made me puffy, which I hated because I was already fat then.

- The NO gave me a TON TON TON of energy (NO Shotgun is the best ive ever tried by far) which gave me the boost i needed to pass plateaus, and for those who say it doesnt work, just give it a try and ull see for yourself. The extra energy will help you squeeze out extra reps or weight, which is definitely gonna help you grow and get stronger. Pretty bad for you though, esp since most of them have caffeine in them too. I stopped taking it because my heart would go crazy every time I took it, and b/c it was expensive.

- Stopped taking the multivitamin because you should get all the nutrients you need from your diet, and a GOOD diet is a must.

- Stopped the fish oil because I cook in olive oil, and because I dont think I need all the supplements.

and if you havent heard this a thousand times... DIET DIET DIET... oh and DIET! Its the MOST IMPORTANT PART. Your diet must be spot on, especially if you are cutting.

fine...sorry for trying to help...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

dymatize elite 12hr FUDGE.....34$ - 4.4lbs....(maybe cheaper depending on where you are).....and this is different than the reg elite whey....

that is about as short as i can make my opinion....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

lol ignore the too long post comments, its just typical ca.com banter, i enjoyed your post. Although you may or may not be a professional body builder you sure can act like you are one

well...thanks...maybe someone will learn a little??

oh and although i am in fact a bb'er, i never said pro....i said national level....just to be clear...i dont want no one calling me a liar as soon as i get here...LOL...

$72.99 FTW!
is that a mail order price??...what was the shipping on top of that?

and that particular protien, while decent quality, is FAR from the best value, or the best tasteing (although taste is pretty subjective)

and the dymatize brand can be had for 69.99 online......fyi

Nope The Vitamin Shoppee was selling it at that price with no tax two weeks ago. Personally for the price/quality this is the brand I usually buy everything else in the stores is just to expensive, I'll check on the dymatize when I run out
