woofers optimized for sealed sq

I would recommend the Dayton RS series for SQ any day. Very good SQ and overall quality, plus it's priced very reasonably for what you get.
x2! they have to be heard to fully believe. i haven't even heard mine in weather above 35 degrees yet. so i think it will be even more efficient and sound even better when it's not freezing outside.

AND to the OP, you still didn't answer about what ohms your 500 watts is at.

I'd add the Shiva-X and Tempest-X, and woofers from Creative Sound Solutions in Canada to your list. They don't get much attention around here because they don't cater to the high school basshead crowd.

The Fi SSD with copper coils will also do admirably with 500W in a sealed environment.

I've heard both the Profis and the Vanadiums and both of them have more than enough output to satisfy someone that's looking for musicality. They're not woofers made for farting, they play music and do it extremely well...

good subs but I'm not sure if I'd call them small box woofers.

dont have an amp yet, all options open.

i would also like to add.. I am not conviced with the jbl gti drivers to be SQ. It's very impratical in my opinion to put a sub like that in your car. Again I am not an expert in translating the spec sheet with an ideal install environment, but from what I see it is neither practical nor sq, again another driver for the mis informed younger generation

Ah yes, the classic shiva, will be hard to get my hands on them if i am not mistaken, I was even thinking 2 koda 8's

I installed an ssd 12 in a very simple daily application, about 1.1 sealed and 750 rms of current and I was not impressed. Smooth response, exceptional across the board, but gave me an empty feeling in terms of qyality sound. However, the sub was new, and people do say that within time it gets better, which is a concept I dont believe.

Again, i used an mx and that was'nt an sq driver either.
