i got a thread bout my cmx kicks. 1 died on me a couple months ago. found out my amp died and i guess possibly damaged the comp. well after replacing the amp, i used only 1 comp (while other was and STILL IS at rainbows factory for repair) and its been goin fine till today. woofer died on me today after not even a minute of use when i first started my car this afternoon. signal is NOT NOT NOT clipped. each comps getting 200wrms, which from what numerous sources have told me is perfectly fine for the comps. rainbow is supposed to be good quality, but these are by far the shittiest car audio equipment ive ever had. im hoping maybe i got a bad pair?

only other possiblity i could possibly see is perhaps a short in the power wire. i checked last time this happened and everything looked fine. and my amp is still powering the 1 tweeter so it must not be damaged. if i fused a foot from the amp and blew the fuse would that pretty much guarantee a short in the power wire? i got extra fuse boxes i can use...

yeah let me just go drop a G on an o-scope.
You can find them a lot cheaper than that if you know where to look //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I was just curious how you're certain your amp isn't clipping...

if you had an underrated amp that you werent running to full potential, would you think it was clipping? theres pretty much no way for me to be clipping this signal. i dont have any fucked up music, its all from CDs. and gains were set with a -6dB test tone (or whatever one is recommended here, not sure if its 6), so playing music wont us as many watts.

Might be throwing DC out on one of the channels...regardless...you either have the worst luck in choosing equipment, or there's an underlying issue with the install //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
