Wondering if my RF 400s amp will do for this beast of a sub..

Hey guys, first time here.. figured i might as well get some expert opinions.

I blew my 12" RF Punch HE a bit ago and have been without bass ever since. This was the second time in 4 years my sub blew so i decided to take a break from the bass for a bit. But now here i am, wanting it back!

I have a chance to get the new Rockford Fosgate 12" T112D4 at an unbelieable low price so im seriously considering it to fill the void in my life. However, i know my amp puts out only about 1/3 the power that this beast of a sub can take. My question to you guys is if this sub will blow or get fuct cuz im only feeding it 1/3 of what it can potentially handle?

Keep in mind that i don't really give a shit about maximizing the potential of this sub, or blowing my ears off with bass, i just need a little SPL to make me happy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Heres the specs of that sub:

Size 12"

Impedance 4-Ohm x 2

Power Handling 600 RMS 1200 Peak

Motor Size 124 oz. double stacked

Voice Coil Diameter 3" anodized aluminum

Speaker Connector Dual 8 AWG slot load

Mounting Depth 6.625"

Rec. Sealed Enclosure 1.25 cu. ft. 35.4 liters

Rec. Vented Enclosure 2.25 cu. ft. 63.72 liters

Tuning Frequency (vented) 40 Hz

Weight 30.6 Lbs. (13.9 Kg.)

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=4&series_id=32&family_id=12&item_id=91839&locale=en_US

and heres my current setup (no sub at the moment):

Kenwood Excelon 850 HU,

Rockford Fosgate 400S Amp (rated at 413Watt/206.5 RMS)

- 4 ohm load - 100w x 2

- 2 ohm load - 200w x 2

- 4 ohm bridged - 400w x 1,

Large SINGLE 12" Ported Box

The low price is making me want to just buy the sub and see what happens, but if it's not going to work at all, or will screw my car, or somehting else up it aint worth it.

Any advice is appreciated,

Frankie

thanks for the reply. however, im not looking to sink any more costs into my system. I merely would like to know if my amp will even be able to get this sub pumping (even jsut slightly) without screwing anything up (i.e. sub, amp, alternator, etc)
