Ny girl doesnt really mind but she does mind when i give her 0 time on the weekends since my job schedule doesnt really let us see eachother diring the week, so i take advatage on weekdays to tinker with ny setup

your interests help to define your character

she obviously was attracted to you initially because of who you are and your interests and passions

you can change your interest to please her , and take on new hobbies that are more , well , grown up

more grown up hobbies take on more grown up costs

so her argument holds no water , as it will cost you more money

I'm right on the edge of 40. Married for 10 yrs. 2 kiddo's. I don't spend much on sound, but over the years I probably have ~$1500 in my van. Wife doesn't really care. She just rolls her eyes when I tell her I need to spend an afternoon installing speakers etc. She doesn't like the sub mainly because it's big and she can't pack up the van with a bunch of crap (or people) when the sub's in so I have to cart it back and forth from the garage to the van all the time (it's out currently). She doesn't really like it loud either, but usually when shes with me the kids are too so I'm not blasting it anyway.

On the other hand - my 16 y/o daughter loves it. There's no too loud for her and a lot of the stuff she listens to has a good beat so we can at least agree on that. Some of the lyrics are horrid, but oh well. She has already made me promise when she gets a car I'll build her some sound.

Before I was married I had a gf that swore loud bass "stimulated" her, but she was a bit of a freak and never really needed a reason.

I think about anything stimulated her.

I had this issue with my ex wife for almost all hobbies I ever got into (except when I was playing tournament paintball, strangely). It wasn't ever about the money, always the time. Got into a lot of disagreement because I was her only hobby. She never minded the system I had in my car when we were dating, though.

She never understood that as a husband and father, I had to fulfill the needs of 3 roles (husband, father, individual). The second one of those gets neglected, the other two suffer. It's the same thing they tell you about crash landings on an airplane, if you don't take care of yourself, first, you're of no use to anybody else.

Dude, I am 50, and I still love this schit, I get the eye roll all the time. I just got out of the dog house for buying my latest sub a month and a half ago, and FINALLY getting a box for this re (psi) mt 15. We all need a release dude. I tell my wife all the time, it could be a much worse hobby, like drugs or alcohol. She thinks that I need to talk to somebody about my 'addiction'.
