Woman sued for smoking in her apartment

Maybe that family should move out instead, since they dont wanna deal with other people in an apartment building.

they arent the ones making life difficult, she is

if she cant keep the smell 100% in her apartment she should leave

even if its 50 ft away you still have to travel through the hallway, i don't want to have to smell/ breathe in smoke coming out of my house everyday especially with a 4 yr old kid

they mention if she would put a fan to blow air from inside out the window they would close the case and she REFUSED to come to that agreement

having that said they have every right to sue

keep it in her apartment/outside and there are no problems

part of the risks of living around other people(apartment building), you dont like it, move out.

Huff took steps to insulate her apartment. The apartment building did construction work, sealed off air ducts and made sure no smoke could get from her apartment to the Selbins', but now the neighbors were complaining about smoke in the hallway.

What if it isn't smoking...they just have bad smell?

Say you walk your dog in the park and it causes an allergic reaction...should I take you to court? Or should I expect in high density enviornment that I willing went...there would be odds of this.

They live in an apartment that allows smoking and animals. If do not wish to confront those externalities, they should move.

cigarette smell and toxins travel in the smoke, if there is smell there is smoke and toxins even if it isnt visable

What if the neighbor upstairs could had an issue with it? The neighbor down the block, accross state, etc. Anyone would had allergic reactions to fragrances can sue you? Because your purchase would entice the manufacturer to produce more, thus, you are perpetuating the problem of aggravting my allergies.

I do not know about where you live, but in Tennessee, we can chose where we live. And apartments are clearly marked smoking/non-smoking, pets or no pets.
