Without further delay... 12 inch test session is OPEN

A used Shiva would beat it for accuracy...I have no experience with the new ones, so I can't comment on those.

If you want to stay under $100, I'd prowl the classifieds...there are plenty of drivers out there that sonically trump the Mach5. Lower end Eclipse, older RE (SE series comes to mind), Soundsplinter, etc, etc. Go to DIYAudio or HTGuide and see what they're recommending.

Glad to see the Oz ME got a decent SQ review considering the dead honest nature of your review Jim.

Just wondering what enclosure you tested it in, because the 1.5 cu ft sealed would have been much better for it than the 1 cu ft one... That could also explain the peaky response curve it put out.

no image dynamics idMAX??????????? whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Whatever subs we did not have it was due to one of the two following scenarios.

1) The manufacture would not send the woofers out to test.

or

2) A consumer wouldn't send the woofers out to test.

Now, stop asking why...it's been said 3000 times, and this is the 3001st time.

If you want it tested, send it, if not quit complaining.

LOL! I wonder if people just read the threads that are in the top 5 when they log on and forget about the rest. How long has the Great 12" Challenge info been up? Two months now probably. I don't mean to be mean, but this is getting a little silly. Loyd, Chad, Nick M., etc, have had the threads up for a LONG time before the test about sending drivers in. So you can't say that the information wasn't posted up early enough.

I was wondering why your review said "low end to spare" yet the response curve graph was peaky to the point of no low end.
The boxes I used in the van and the boxes Loyd and Co. used down in the garage were independent of each other //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It seems the test session didn't clear anything up. Everyone still has there own opinion on what fits them regardless of the test. So take it for what it is. A subjective test. Go with what works for you.

The Kicker CVX pwned on the sealed box tests, really flat response and high output almost all the way down to 20 hz. Too bad it wasn't tested for SQ, because that would have been interesting.

Is there a reason why the Assassin wasn't judged for SQ or was it one of the results that didn't get posted? Many people consider them to be SQ drivers and many people buy them for that reason.

I'm not complaining or *****ing, but just curious.

i'm curious too, especially since its talked about so much on here

I promise not to molest it...even though it's a TC driver...
I'll need to reinstall my copy of WinISD though, can't test it without that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
be careful what you say Jim... some people among us who affiate with a certain buildhouse, seem to think we're throwing results on some drivers...

which pisses me off to no end...

Loyd L.
