I have a similar setup, just with the lappy on the couch... and a mouse of course.

You just have a super long VGA cable running up to the TV?

well my PC sits right next to it and couch is about 4 feet from the TV so mouse and keyboard stretches but from the PC runs a VGA-HDMI for the picture to show up on the screen. and then down in the bottom left of the pic i got a little ten off of 100 watts, in a 1.9 cubes at 24 hz box.

does the job well. everything is hooked up to the receiver so the PC sounds comes thru my surround sound as well. about as enjoyable as it can get.

Oh, you have a tower PC next to the TV... I see...

I need to just get a wireless keyboard/mouse and stash my lappy behind the TV if I want to do this...

But then again, I like having a movie/tv on in the backround while internet-ing most o the time...
