Wiring up a LOC: does it matter which speaker you wire it into?

I just hooked up my sub LOC to the LR speaker lines of my 2008 Dodge Ram with the factory Infinity sound system AFTER the amp (tried before the amp and got no signal to the amp). The rear speakers in the Infinity system are 5.25" full range speakers and the front door speaker in the Infinity system are mid/lows 6x9" in the doors. Someone on a Ramforum suggested hooking up the LOC to the front door speakers because it would be louder, but I have a hard time believing this because it is my impression that the lines are what power the sub obviously, they just provide signal to the amp. So I was thinking just as long as the sub is getting appropriate range of frequencies, it wouldn't matter what speaker I hooked it up to. So, long story short is, would changing the speaker that the LOC is hooked up to affect how it sounds? Quite honestly I was a little dissapointed in the sound from the sub after hook up. Thanks for any help

The factory amp may high pass filter the smaller rear speakers to protect them. I recommend the largest woofers in the vehicle as well.

Make sure you are tapping both left and right, make sure polarity is correct, and describe the rest of the aftermarket system with make/model numbers and settings.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. The signals comming into the factory amp should be head unit/radio speaker wires and that'd be my preference - before the factory amp. Why didn't that work?

Not sure, I tried it by skinning the proper wires behind the HU and it didn't work. Why is your preference pre-amp, just curious
