wiring two 4ohm dvc thunder squares..?

a few q's actually... just purchased 2 MTX TS8512-44... 12" dvc thunder square 8500 series.. haven't purchased an amp yet. although for the meanwhile, i plan on connecting just one to a 1200 w sony xplod i have from a previous install.. these subs are 750 rms, 1500 max...

1) with two of these, what would be the best way to go about wiring these... one big amp for both? seperate amps for each sub? what type (mono, 2 channel)? should i use my current amp and also purchase a new one? How many watts to get the best bang out of these subs. thanks for any help and suggestions you guys can give...

This would be the best way to wire up your subs -

I wouldn't even bother using you're sony xplod amp. The amp is not stable at 1ohm, so the only other way to wire it up the subs would be 4 ohms. I'm sure that amp is probably like 250-300rms x1 @ 4ohms which would be greatly under powering each sub.

As far as an amp, I would personally go for a mono amp. Find one that will do around 1500rms @ 1ohm.

And be sure to check out the big 3 sticky.
