wiring to a toggel switch

IIRC you take the parking brake wire, put that on one side of the switch then ground the other side. Then when you want to watch a video you just have to toggle it back and forth once. At least that's how it was with my Clarion back in the day...

that deck is looking for power too, not just ground...

it is wired to the hot side of the parkbrake switch

using a relay is easier...

but here goes...

You can wire the parking break wire from the deck to a switch, ground the other end then flip it twice to bypass. the wire needs to be grounded after the unit is turned on and sometimes it is a pain...

here look at this video.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDGZEZrUdRo

this is cheap easy and works all the time...

the 3200,4200, and 5200 as well as the 31,41 and 5100 dvd and BT model decks all work this way.

a 12 volt relay is $5 same price as a cheap toggle is..

here are the pinouts for the relay...

you have pin numbers 85,86,87 and 87A then 30.

85, Blue/white amp wire from the deck

86/30 Ground, (the decks GROUND WILL NOT WORK! Drill a new ground)

87A blank

87 park break wire

what kind of relay and how would i hook it into the system? i just ordered a clarion vx400 and i want to do it right the first time without having to go through and fix things later, i also don't want to have to be flipping switches everytime someone wants to put a dvd in. thanx
