Wiring an Orion H2 12.2 with a Hifonics Brutus BXI2010D 2000 Amp [help]

Okay.. well I got a hold of this set up to replace the old pioneer premier subs I had, but now my question is..

what's the best way I can wire so I can get the most from this amp?

The amp is :

1 x 650 W @ 4 Ohms, 1 x 1300 W @ 2 Ohms, 1 x 2000 W @ 1 Ohm.

The sub is:

Nominal Power Handling: 2000 Watt RMS

Peak Power Handling 2500 Watt

Impedance 4 ohm (Dual Coil)

I'm confused on to whether the "4 ohm (Dual Coil)" means 2 ohms per coil, which would mean I can bring this load down to 1 ohm by wiring it, or if it means that it's 4 ohms and 4 ohms, which means the least I could run the sub would be at two ohms?

I'd really appreciate it if you guys can help me on this one,

I believe the Orion is a dual 2ohm sub, not 4ohm, meaning each voice coil is 2ohms. You can wire in parallel to get 1 ohm as long as the amp is 1ohm stable, which the Brutus is.

I could swear I saw the same thing before I got a hold of this sub, which was what had me confused because every source I came across said that it was dual 4 ohms, unless there are two different types. Let's hope it is dual 2 ohm, I should be getting this amplifier from one of my buddies tomorrow, I'm currently running it at about half of what it should be run at with my old amplifier 540 x 2 ch, 1080 watts.. way too much clipping going on and it doesn't sound 'alright' unless my volume is literally turned all the way up.

Thank you for though, and if you do find verification that it's 2 ohms, let me know because that'll be so much better. Either way I'm going to see if I can test the sub to find the resistance tomorrow morning.

I got the specs from sonicelectronix, Orion H2-12.2 (orih2122) - 12" Car Subwoofer - Sonic Electronix

Ya, just get a dmm and measure them. Post back what you find.
