Wiring through the firewall?

depends on the vehicle, but i would run it under the vehicle and tie it along the frame and wire loom it. then at the back cut some holes as high up as you can off the ground and use some grommets for the wires and seal them up with sealant.

cutting through the firewall is gonna make you cry so id avoid that

doesn't mean it's right

id much rather have that many runs under my vehicle

some people dont realize you can cut right through the casing of the wire and short it to ground (derp your vehicle) if you go through the firewall without preparing it, and at that point id rather run it under the vehicle since you're doing just as much work

Here is how I did mine in my 2011 Camry.

Passenger side grommet where the stock wires run through

I removed the grommet, took vinyl tubing and cut a slit down it then filled it with silicone and put it around the metal to protect the wires

All done

they make special fittings for penetrating walls. you can use what's called a cbg and a Mayers hub. they built specifically for what your doing.http://m.platt.com/platt-electric-supply/Cord-Grips-Steel-Straight/Appleton/CG-87100S/Products.aspx?pid=153438

similar to this. it's liquid tight and seals the cable liquid tight as well as protects it from and damage..http://m.platt.com/platt-electric-supply/Cord-Grips-Steel-Straight/Appleton/CG-87100S/Products.aspx?pid=153438

Using the factory openings for the body or HLD harness are cool but, some time if you pull back your carpet you can find a few locations that are sealed with a simple grommet. I drilled through mines and got some of those stinger snap in grommets then sealed them up silicone.

Yeah like @KINGDELL91 said, there may be unused holes already in the car in other places that just have an unused grommet in place. There were a couple on the floor of my car and one back near the trunk.

Taking out most of your interior, specifically the carpet, will help you find the best spot and locate these unused holes.

I always hated drilling through my firewall, so if you are like me find those stock holes that are already there and make good use of them :D

Good luck!
