Wiring subs and door speakers

I have 2 questions really.

1.) Can I wire up my door speakers so there's only a certain amount of wattage running to them? I tried doing that with my subs but I don't know if I acheived that. I was running to sundown e8;s off a saz-1000d at 2 ohms, but I don't actually know how many wattage was going to them.

2.) Would it be smarter for me to run both my door speakers and my subs off the same amp? I have a SAX-125.2 that i'm running my door speakers through, and while I was at work I got to thinking, why don't I just run all of them through that one amp? I'm sure you guys will tell me why I shouldn't. ha ha.

1) no the only way u can control how much wattage is goin to ur speakers is just by the gain on the speaker amp and/or playin wit the head unit, the best way is by googlin some wattage charts n use a certain frequency thru ur head unit wit everythin set to 0 n usin a multimeter n checkin the watt chart to c how much voltage ur gettin outta ur speaker output of ur amp, do a couple google searches to get the best info bout how to do all of it

2) its never a good idea to run subs off of a class a/b amp, unless u use a filter to block off high frequencies from goin to the sub, the filter just goes in the wire goin to the sub i believe, subs r best ran off of class D amps, plus they r easier to configure n have a subsonic filter built into the amp to help keep low frequencies, that ur sub cant handle, from goin to ur sub, a good 5 or 3 channel amp would do u fine, that odd channel would b ur class D channel of the amp n the rest is class A/B.

im no pro but this is just my understandin of it, any1 can correct me if im wrong cuz i would not like to send out useless n harmin info

ok. i think i'll just stick to using my two amps then. lol. i'm playin on buying a dry cell to run both of them since i got a measley 90amp alt in my truck. i don't feel like running a filter through my lines, even though it's probably be cheaper. ha ha. about the watts to my speakers, i'll definitely google that. also, i need to find out what to set my subsonic at for my e8's since that could also be my my tinsel lead is all gone to hell. :p

u can do that then save up for a 3 or 5 channel, i kno its a whole lot better to run 1 wire instead of 2, i used to have an amp for my subs, amp for my back speakers n an amp for my front speakers, pain really, but i got sick of havin to deal wit multiple amps so i took em out, to me the 3 n 5 channel amps sub output doesnt put out enough power to power my sub, thats y i never went that route but u seem to go for SQ control, u would have to google the filters too, i only heard of em, i never seen how they were used or anythin but just seen pics off my old kicker amp manual, as for the tinsel lead goin bad i would have no clue if the subsonic filter would have to play wit that or not, there r very knowledgable car audio enthusiasts on this site that would b able to explain that part to u, im sure in due time they will read ur thread n share their knowledge, if u dont wanna wait for them to come across this then u can just google it, theres just so much good info out there these days that u will pry get a few good answers to ur questions

i think right now i'm just going to stick to the two amps. once i get into the vehicle i want i'll have money to do all that. even then, i'm prolly just going to have the subs and throw some comp speakers in there. i'm not really going for sq control, i just want to be safe for my subs. lol.

ha ha. i guess so. it did sound nice before the 8's pooped on me. they'll be back and runnin shortly though. the only thing that sucks is it's a wee bit cramped with a 1.25^3 box behind the seat. but hey, sacrifices need to be made, right? =]

oh, and my plan is once i get in the AF i'm gettin a trailblazer and throwin a 18" nightshade in the back of it. then i'm putting the comps in there. getting a better deck, too. mine right now is like, bottom end. ha ha. i like it though.

ya, 50 or 60 hz, 0db, i think u can download it off of Realm Of Excursion in the "downloads" tab, n wen u hook up a multimeter have it set to ACV 200 n hook up the ends in the speaker output, color matchin ofcourse but im sure u knew that, n wen u turn ur gain up u will c ur AC voltage, just turn ur radio up 80% of the max it can go, just so u can tune ur amp at higher volumes cuz most of the time pple listen to music at a higher volume n even if u dont turn ur radio up that loud wen u listen to ur music u wouldnt blow ur subs or amp, n a simple way to tune ur speaker amp is to put on some high pitch music, u can turn the gains up on there to wear the S's or high frequencies dont sound raspy
