wiring solution from amp for quick switching of subs

I have a 10" that is in a glassed box over the wheel well (Suby Outback) - stealth and little effect on cargo area which is important. But I also have a 12" that I'd like to use as well (Not at the same time obv.)

There will be times (family trips etc.) when I need every available inch of cargo area so I will pull out the 12 out of the car. If I get a box built for this sub, I'm wondering what is the best way to be able to quickly switch which sub is connected to the amp.

Short speaker wires run from the amp that terminate with a bullet (I can't seem to find 12 gauge bullet terminals, do they exist?) or quick disconnect terminal with the speaker wires from both subs run to that location and I can just switch the connection there? Is there a more fancy way via relay or something that I could make this switch from the front seat?

Whaddaya think?

i'd use a speaker box terminal, and when you take it out, pull the fuse for the amp

hold on.... you want the 10 and 12 in at the same time, but only run one at a time? what is the purpose of this?

The enclosure for the 10 is small and out of the way and will be bolted to the car. Removing it would require pulling the sub from the box and then unbolting the enclosure from the body. It'll be much easier to just leave it there and hook it up when I needed it. On the other hand, the 12" enclosure would be secured externally from box to car, much easier to pull. And necessary when I need storage.

I know, it's goofy. I didn't plan on having this 12 at all, but the situtation is such that I have it so I may as well use it when I have the space in the cargo area, which is 85% of the time....

Make sense? I'm not sure I understand your solution though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Either sub will be utilizing the same amp, so why am I pulling the amp fuse??

i thought you would swap the 12 in and the 10 out... leaving the amp in there, on, and pushing nothing.

how easy is your amp to get to?

you got me all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

lol, the amp will be easy to get to, there is a storage area over the spare tire that is easily accessible, that's where the amp will be.

yes, a relay will be your friend. When off, it will feed the 10" when on it will feed the 12". You will need to mount a swith in the front dash or something.
Cool. I'm seriously stupid on this stuff though, diagram/details? And if it's a simple switch, I probably could just leave it in the storage area along side the amp.... less wiring. Plus now that I think about it, I don't want a switch sitting up front somewhere, stock as possible is best.

just use speaker terminal push type.

And relay wiring.
