Wiring questions.....

Just got a couple of questions about my system in my 2003 grand am. first i will explain everything i have in it.

2 10" type-r subs

Alpine MRP-m1000 watt rms amp

1 Farad Rockford capacitor

Alpine head unit

4 awg wiring

stock speakers

When i crank my system, not too loud, after about 10 minutes the subs turn off, though the amp still has power going to it. Any ideas on what this might be? Im thinking i do not have it wired correctly and the subs or amp is overheating...

Second question is how should i wire these subs to the amp? i have seen mulitple ways to do it but not sure which is the right way.

Third question is what size fuse should i run in the power wire?

If I had to guess, I'd say your Type R's are 4 ohm dvc and they're wired @ 1 ohm. Your amp isn't 1 ohm stable, therefore it's going into protect.

I could be wrong, but that's the first thing that came to mind...
