Wiring Question

Hello Everyone, 1st poster here but I have several years of experience and need some help.

Here is what I am trying to do.

I am hooking up two head units in my vehilce, One is a touchscreen flip-up and the other is an alpine headunit with the imprint add-on. The reason that I am doing this is because

A. The flip up is a Jensen.. But it plays dvd's and mp3 cd's

B. I got it for free

C. I want to retain my original alpine headunit because of the sound quality.. compared to the jensen its clearly night and day.

I know how to wire everything and pretty much have everything already in place. The question I have is that everything is hooked up through my alpine headunit. What I am planning on doing is just running some rca's from the flip-up to the aux in on the alpine deck but which RCA out should I use on the flip-up. The flip-up has three outputs.. Front.. Rear.. And Sub. Obviously I dont want to use Sub. My common sense is telling me just to use the front outputs and set everything to 0 on the flip-up, But if I do this and just use the front pre-outs will I still retain the original sound quality of for example a DVD that is in the flip-up?

The Alpine deck is a model CDA-9886 with the sound imprint add-on and the flip up is a jensen vm9311.

your still only going to have the sound quality output that the jenson will have maybe a little better from what the alpine can clean up. Your going to be using MP3s anyways so you might not notice with DVD's I would guess you will depending on the components your using "speakers, amps RCA's" because your still only going to have as good of quality as what the jenson is sampling from the dvd converting it from dig. to anolog to digital to anolog back to digital in the amp then to anolog to the speaker as they say there is such a thing as over prossesing and using low quality products when doing so only makes it worse

personal opinion. Then again I am one of the people who say I can hear a difrence in quality do to the amp even when I am using a active x over before the amp so....
