wiring question

As it stands now i have 2 alpine type -e 12" single voice coil subs hooked up to a alpine MRP-M450 amp. I am looking to add a second amp, preferable the same kind.

I have a 4 gage fused wire running to the back hooked up to a cap. All of the Power and ground wires are 4 gage.

The part I'm confused about is can i simply run a second wire from the cap to the second amp or do i have to get a distribution block to split that power wire?

Yep, you can run a second wire from the cap to the new amp. I run my cap in front of my distribution block, but your way will work to the same effect.

You do have that main power wire fused, right?

yeah i do, its up front near the battery.

it will work either way, but I would suggest running from the cap to a distribution block and then to the amps. it just provides a little more current protection for the amps assuming the distro block is fused.
