wiring question...

I have a pair of dual 2 subs.Right now i have them wired series parell for 2ohm finial.But if I wire them parell series i can get the same 2 ohms but the speakers are at 1 ohm instead of 4 ohm.Does this make a differance with power output from my amp(i.e. less impeadance rise)?
