Please look at this home theater speaker system.

Satellite Speakers

6 Watts RMS

3" Full Range Speaker

Frequency Response: 120Hz~18kHz

Dimensions: W86 x H150 x D110mm

Subwoofer

6 Watts RMS

4" Woofer

Frequency Response: 70Hz~300Hz

Dimensions: W150 x H290 x D200 mm

It hasa AC 10V 2000mA power source. It has a detachable AC adapter (goes to the wall).

I wanna know if i can run this off my car so I can hook up my protable cd player to it. Reasons for this is that I have a '83 Crown Victoria with an old style radio that has no casette deck for an adapter for a cd player. A new style cd player will cost a lot and will require a lot of modifing to the dash. Is there a way to do this?Is there a DC adapter that can plug into a cig. lighter in the car and have the same output as reuired above?

Yeah, you can hook it up through a power inverter...

look on the back of the stereo and see how many watts it uses...not the watt output per speaker, but the actual unit. Should say something like 120V - 60Hz 44W

There is no watts on the back. I would calculate it but theres no amp rating on the back either. This is all the info of the website like i posted above, I dobut this is the right thing you need. But there is 4 speakers 6*4=24w + 6w for the sub. It should equal around 30watts. But that dont still sound right does it? plus there will be a portable cd player running of this too, which shouldn't be too much more but again it doesn't say wattage or amps on it either.

What does the letters mA stand for because that is on there.

Dude - you realize that's a totally lame setup? It's no more power than a portable boom-box. I would rather go for an RF Modulator and feed a portable CD player into the stock FM radio.
But if you insist - the 10VAC adapter will probably make 9 VDC once it gets into the "system". You can get a 12 to 9V converter at Radio Shack and use that instead ov an inverter and the AC adapter thingie. You may have to futz with polarity until you get it right.

I didn't even think of a RF modulator. You guys think it will hook into the factory radio of the '83 crown Vic?

Yeah I seen that it would be cheaper and easier. So to hook it you would attach it into the back of the radio where the ant In is and then you attach the ant into the modulator. Then I will need a adapter that changes the output of the cd player to the RCA and then hook it up unless I get a modulator that accepts the smaller audio output. Thanks for the help guys.

I am new to car audio area. What is the best online website to get the RF Modulators? I know of crutchfield.com and that is about it. Their cheapest one is 39.99.
