Wiring parallel in dual chamber box

Ok my friend has a dual chamber box for his two 10's and needs them to be ran in parallel. what is the best way to do this? I was thinking about wiring both subs to their own separate terminals on the inside and then twisting and soldering the pos's and neg's together from each sub then having one set of pos and neg to the amp from there. Anyone have any input on that? Also would anyone happen to know the best place to ground an amp on an avalanche....theres like no existing places. Guess ill just have to self tap my way into it.
