I have a couple of D9 10s and sadly theyre each dual 4ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif ...I dont have the money to run both of them, so 1 will have to suffice.

Anyways.

Ive been looking around, and if im not mistaken. I could wire the D9 to an 8ohm load, correct?

The amp is

* 4 x 100w RMS @ 4 Ohms

* 4 x 200w RMS @ 2 Ohms

* 2 x 100w RMS + 1 x 400 @ 4 Ohms

* 2 x 400w RMS @ 4 Ohms

Would it be possible to bridge (2 x 400 @ 4ohms) together to get 1 x 800 @ 8ohms bridged?

Is this practical?

You could run 400 watts to each coil off of two different channels on one sub, or you could run each sub off a channel at 8 ohms, but you would only get about 200 watts to each sub.

I dont understand exactly what you're saying, the way you worded it doesnt make very much sense.

I would only be running 1 of the D9 Dual 4ohm 10s

The Orion amp is

* 4 x 100w RMS @ 4 Ohms

* 4 x 200w RMS @ 2 Ohms

* 2 x 100w RMS + 1 x 400 @ 4 Ohms

* 2 x 400w RMS @ 4 Ohms

Could I not combine 2 x 400 @ 4ohm into 1 x 800 @ 8ohms?

Also, what could I expect from this amp as far as a 3 channel amp? Can it go any lower on the subwoofer channel? 2ohm stable? 2 x 100 + 1 x 800 @ 2ohms?

Just run the rear channel on one coil for 400 watts, and run the front channel on the other coil for another 400 watts. That will give you 800 watts total

(400 watts/coil).

Thats what I was asking thank you, I dont think I was very specific/clear in my inital post. How much actual "REAL" power could I expect getting to each coil? I know Orion amps are underrated, but by how much?

bump from the grave!

from orion's manual for the 8004

8004 - 100 Watts per channel, four-channel amplifier with dual built-in fully variable

high-pass, low-pass, and band-pass 12dB/octave crossovers with INTELLi Bass.

The 8004 is capable of six, five, four, three, or two channel operation with a maximum

power capability of 800 Watts into 4W stereo (front and rear channels

bridged).

i'm confused.. i have this 4 channel amp and the specs are:

100watts x 4 (4ohms)

200watts x 4 (2ohms)

400watts x 2 (4 ohms) bridged

where will the 800watts x 1 bridge be coming from?
