I would like to run one 12" sub in the trunk but I thought I might like 0ne maybe two 8's in the rear deck. Is this a bad idea? can I run rear deck 8's free air or will they need baffles built of some sort. Should I give up on the ideas of the 8's all together? I have or will pick up the propper amp to run it but right now I was hopeing to run them ALL with a 2channel 225x2 amp bridgable if I need too or unbridged down to 2ohms.....what is your opinion and what would you do? would you build crossovers for the 8's to keep them from going too low?

Thanks

I'd just go with a single 12, if there aren't already holes for 2 8's in the rear deck it's gonna be a big mess and way too much work to accomplish the same as a single 12 in the trunk. I like the ambition and creativity though! Get some decent 6x9s or whatever size your interior speakers are and you will have a great sounding system.

You can get infinite baffle woofers for the rear deck but it's a lot of modification and bracing to get it solid enough to be a subwoofer baffle, so the only reason to got to that trouble would be is you just absolutely couldn't afford to lose the storage space in the trunk.

As for the difference between two 8s and one 12, there isn't a lot as far as piston diameter but with the power you're talking about, you won't get much output from 8s. A Sundown E-12, or some other entry level woofer would do well on that little power, but only in a ported enclosure. However, if you plan to up the power, I'd consider an SA-12 or something a little stronger for the future.

if you want to put the 8's in i would look at a different location. personally I'm not that big of fan of rear deck speakers ( free air) if you have a serious sub in the trunk. Too many times I've heard the speakers popping and distorting from the air pressure in the trunk. If you plan on sealing them up then go for it. 2 ch amp is not going to work for 8's and a 12. it'll work for the 8's and get a different amp for the 12. good luck.

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.

Yup , the dsp should have input sections, it may have one for sub? Hu to dsp. Dsp to amps, amps to speakers. Probably help you to draw this all...
