Wiring my sub

I just received my kicker CVX 15" in the mail today. I had a CVR 15 getting 600 watts from my jbl 1200.1 amp. In looking at the wiring guide I'm trying to figure out do I have to rewring the amp also. I'm trying to feed the sub the 1200 at 2 ohms since the sub is 4 ohms.

ya its dvc 4 ohm u can either wire to 2 or 8

What configurations are you speaking of?

If you wire the sub as pictured above it will show the amp a 2 Ohm nominal load and the amp will output whatever it outputs when shown a 2 Ohm load. Other than that I don't guess I know what you're asking...

Okay I hooked up the sub the way the picture shows and it is not hitting anywhere near what the CVR did. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but just by the way its hitting it seems as if it's get less power than 1200 rms.
