Wiring messed up performance of my car?

Hey guys. I'm in a problem. My sub turned off and I took to a local "professional" shop and they mentioned the wire fried and needed it replaced. This is not my normal shop btw. Anyway they fixed it. I drove for 2 hours and all of a sudden my car starts stuttering, shaking, sometimes stalls while I'm dead stopped at a light??? I talked to my mechanic and we thought it was a fuel problem. I changed everything! It's still doing this problem. They mentioned it has to be electrical because of the wiring. My question is... If they wired it wrong or something can that cause this problem? Please help I'm $1000+ deep and my car is still messing up. It's a 2005 chevy impala with 87,000 miles. The mechanic thinks the might've messed up my CPU in the car replacing this wire smh. What u guys think? Please help.

dude i just went thru this problem literally 2 weeks ago with my 04 impala. its a security issue with ur bcm. and dont listen to ppl when they say you have to replace the bcm and what not. what happened was that your battery was possibly disconnected for a bit and ur security thought it was being stolen. just have someone reprogram ur bcm and you should be fine. it worked for me. it first started like that and then it will not start sometimes and then eventually it will just not turn on again. atleast im pretty positive its that.

Man thanks so much I'll ask about that. Weird tho cuz. This only happens when the car is stopped. When I drive smooth sailing. I sold my system just cuz I dont wanna deal with the hassle no more. Plus I'm $1000 deep with new plugs and stuff. They swear it's electrical. I'm newb with this stuff and not car literate at all. So I'm clueless and guilable. May I ask... This is really the first time I've actually had to deal with the sub for 3 years lol. Could this seriously be it. Since the car may not be "used" to it? So just tell my mechanic to reset the BCM

yea it pissed me off because my car literally spent 2 weeks of not turning on because i couldnt figure out what it was. and if you research on line you see that the impalas malibus and i forgot what other gm cars from like 2001 to like 2006 have had horrible security issues. but to test it out turn on your car and if you message center on your dash shows the security light then thats what it is. plus it cost me only $80 for someone to reprogram it for me.

I'll have to look into that. But I paid little attention and that sucker did say security in the message center today. Don't know if it's when I was turning it on or off. But it said security extremely quick

Thanks u guys. It's been 2 weeks exactly but I haven't been driving it much at all. So I hardly turn it on. But it does turn on. Will it say security every time? I never noticed it but I did notice it def. Said security for less than a second today.

Def. I will man. I'll ask my shop tomorrow. They couldn't figure out how I have a new alternator, spark plugs, wires, my fuel pump n filter perfect and it still is doing that stuttering and shaking. It only stalled on the road 2x doesn't stall much now since. But it shakes and stutters like it wants to stall. Did it say security every single time u tried to turn it on? Or most times it didnt? Cuz today was the 1st time I noticed it said security

Sounds like, if this security issue is the problem, and those vehicles are known for having this issue, that your mechanic shop has been incompetent, and you should get at least some sort of refund on previous work done that was not necessary. Keep receipts and documents for EVERYTHING, this could turn ugly.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input bro. I'm very upset. Idk exacty what the stereo shop did. They tell me they replaced the "wire" won't tell me which. Then the owner gets offensive saying he's worked on bentleys and Benz so this car is cake to him. I'm like "what does that have to do with anything" I wanna know what they did smh. They took my car around the back into a garage and worked on it. So idk of they disconnected my battery or not and if they did idk how long. All I can confirm is my car was running fine no sub in the morning. This shop "fixes" my sub. Then around 2pm my car is shaking, stuttering at stop signs and lights while I'm completely stopped and has stalled 2-3 times. Smh. I'm really hoping the BCM reset its the answer to my prayers I've been so stressed out on this one. I since, sold my sub, amp and everything I'm through with subs I just want my car to run normal again. I have a double din tv I was also wondering did they mess up some wiring there that can cause this glitch? Idk I'm just stressed thanks for the input tho

So I tested my car today. Started it up fine no "security" light came on just the red battery in the message center

Turned it off fine. No "security" light came on.

I swore i saw it come on yesterday tho. I just cant remember if its when i turned on the car or turned it off lol.

Does this still seem like a BCM issue? Should I stick to this route? Suggestions?

mmm well this is a tough one. mine was a security issue because i disconnected the battery but i cant really pin point what urs is exactly. if it starts up fine everytime idk. i say still check your bcm since impalas in that year are notorious for that. but if its stuttering when stopping i really dont know what that is because thats more of a mechanical thing than it is a security thing. but thats my 2 cents.
