Hello everyone I just bought a new Pioneer GM-5300T to be run at 380 watts RMS with my new 12" 400 watt RMS pioneer sub. I intend to install the sub in amp in the back of my extended cab ford ranger truck. Anyways I'm struggling on the issue of the amp wiring kit. According to pioneer it has a fuse rating: 30A x 2 and 8-gauge power and ground leads are recommended.
So anyways I have been looking around at local stores since I'm in a hurry to get my wiring kit.
First i was real tempted to buy the Monster 200 Amplifier Power Kit (200-Watts) from frys electronics for $30 which includes 8 gauge power and ground cable however the amp fuse was only 30amps. It also included tubing and the fuse is supposedly waterproof plus it had a 22 foot long power cable.
I decided on buying the Scosche KPA5X2 1400w 5 Gauge Amp Wiring Kit from walmart for $30.95. The power cable is 14 feet. The only thing that worries me about it is the 9 Gauge ground when pioneer recommends 8. Do you think i would be ok with the ground being slightly smaller? or would it pose a fire hazard/damage amp?
Should i return the Scosche kit for the Monster kit if I could upgrade it to a 60 amp fuse?
