Ive got two JL 10w6v2-d4's on the way, and im trying to figure out what amp to get and how to wire them. JL's site wasnt specific to each sub, but it showed how to wire to 1 ohm..

2 DVC drivers with Voice Coils in Parallel / Parallel:

Dual-4 Ohm Subwoofers: 1 Ohm

JL Audio - Car Audio Systems

could my subs support that?

if so, id like to get two of these amps to power them..

Rockford Fosgate Power T500-1bd

Rockford Fosgate

says it puts out 500 watts rms x1 at 1 ohm

perfect right?

i just want to make sure that whole setup would be right and that the speakers can handle 1 ohm

here's a link to specs of my subs

JL Audio 10W6v2 Subwoofers - Car Audio Subwoofers

Thanks!

When you wire each sub it parallel, it will drop each sub to 2 ohms.

When you use both subs on one big amp, then you would be running the whole set up at 1 ohm.

If you get two of the fosgate amps to power them, you would be only running each amp at 2 ohms.

You will be better off with one big amp instead of 2 smaller amps.

The only 2 small amps that would work and best out put for this set up is the JL 500/1 bc JL pushes 500 between 1.5-4ohms.

Try the fosgate T1000d.

You will be pushing only around 300 watts rms at 2 ohms to each sub if you use the fosgate 500

The only way to use it at 1 ohm is to use both subs together.

It is possible to use one bass knob for both fosgate amp only if the amps can be strapped or link.

Other than that, I'd recommend one big amp....

ok sounds good, looks like ill wire them to 1 ohm. so now i just need to find an amp.. i hear what your saying about 1 big amp being better than two, but the only 1000 amps i can find are mono

the T1000-1bd looks good.. it says "It can easily drive four 2-ohm DVC woofers without breaking a sweat or any array of woofers wired to create a 1-ohm amplifier load."... well mine are 4-hm DVC subs.. would it still work??

but its a mono amp doesnt that mean it can only do one sub? and it says the specs on it also say

350 Watts RMS x 1 @ 4-Ohms

650 Watts RMS x 1 @ 2-Ohms

1000 Watts RMS x 1 @ 1-Ohm

nothing about x2???

btw, rockford fosgate amps are some of the top of the line amps right? ive never used one before.

if the T1000-1bd amp will work for my setup, ill go ahead and buy it. i just wanna be 100%

Its really simple, I dont see what your so confused confused about

and JL Audio makes a bunch of good reads on their support link, if you had half a brain you could find it yourself

the 10w6v2 is rated 600 rms, you could throw 1200-1500 rms to a pair with no problem. In a sealed enclosure you could get away with 1500-1800 rms for a pair
