Wiring Inside of enclosure

Say we have 4+ dvc subs and all coils will be connected w/ 8ga-10ga wire and you will only need one pos./neg. run into the amp's output terminals... how do most of you achieve this? solder; wire nuts; make your own box terminals? Im contemplating how i would like to achieve this and i want to hear your reccomendations! I know of the terminals available at parts express but honestly i just dont like them... opinions?

Yes thats right. And i will be wiring them in that way "somewhat" but im asking how would you splice say 4 wires together into one inside the enclosure. I just want to get ideas since im coming up to my first big build and want to find out what my options are

4 wires to one post seems like overkill, if you're just splitting the signal, why would you put that many on one? But assuming you had to do it that way, I would take a 12 or 10 gauge wire and cut off about 4 inches or so, split the one end so you have a pyramid effect with the wire using both positive and negative on the opposite end as your positive. Kind of hard to explain I guess.

i think we are both confusing each other. say we have 4 wires. one goes to amp. other 3 go to subs. (w/o splicing @ the sub terminals) just say sitting all in the same spot and needing to be connected. What would be the best way to connect them and know for sure that it would be adequate

I see what you're saying, I'd either use a good size wire nut for each or solder them I guess. I'm sure they may make a fancy connector you could get somewhere, just don't know what type or where you'd get it.

do the bolt through the box setup. On the inside use ring terminals on all wires from subs and connect to that lug, then on the outside connect a larger wire to the amp

i would use a distro block inside the box. secure it on the floor of the box and only use screw long enough to hold it down. any distro block should do isnce they are build for power wire usually. i think it would look neater and work very well.

wire nut....gtfo. asking for trouble.

lugs sounds cool but i try to use the least amount of holes in the box as possible. ifhte lug gets loose it could cause a leak and we all know how that can effect the subs.

What didn't you like about what you found at parts express? The quality or configuration options? I'm in kind of the same place now as I'm getting ready to start work on my first box build and am trying to work out my terminal solution. In my situation I am using 1 DVC sub, the sub just has 4 wires coming out of it. I'm thinking of using the bi amp terminal and crimping rings so I can mess with configuration options outside of the box. What did you end up doing?

Go get yourself some 60/40 rosin wire, and solder all your splices together, then cover nicely with electrical tape. I myself wired my two FI BTL15's and soldered the splices, and its durable and nice and clean...

Chances are you will want to solder, you don't want to downgrade your wiring in the box just to accomidate your terminals..

Best bet is to solder, and sure you get solder with flux in it.... just is one less thing to worry about when soldering..

Any Questions?
