Can you ground your amp through the capacitor?

Like so.

Only running the cap for 2 reasons- the volt display, and it was nearly free from my buddy.

Thanks for answering my question...

And just to entice everyone. Everyone says NOT to use a cap, but no one says WHY not to use a cap.
It's your car.........You can have a trunk full of FAIL if you want to. A DMM would have been a more useful tool to tell you what your voltage is.

oh god I feel a major flame session about to occur in this thread.

Caps are bad because its like a bucket with a hole in it, it's forever trying to recharge itself because it can't store power.

Used search, couldn't come up with anything.

Didn't have the money to do Big 3 or a Kinetik like i wanted to and I got this cap for free. Helped out a little with what needed to be done. Got it wired in.

When I have more money to dump into car audio I won't use a cap anymore.

Are you reading what you are typing? You said in your first post that you were only running it because of the voltage display and that it was next to free. Obviously you searched about caps and you saw how 90% of people say they are useless. Then you said the search didn't come up with anything. Yeah it wouldn't have come up with anything saying that the cap will help your system. But yet, you want to be that 10% and still use one. And now all of a sudden it "helped" out a little yet you needed instruction on wiring it? Like I said, are you reading what you are typing?

There was a thread why someone explained why caps are worthless, and they should make that a sticky. Along with why jl sucks, stupidist ca thing you heard, post set ups. Btw your correct on the drawing.

How much did you pay for your capacitor?

http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KLMX0BL $1.75/ft x 10ft. = $17.50 (You might even need less wire than that, I only used about 7 feet)

http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=RT1/0516BL $1.75 x 6 = $10.50

TOTAL: $28.00

Better upgrade than a capacitor too.

Are you?

I have read previously about how people hate caps and that they don't help. Never about wiring them into the system. Posted on here about grounding it and that was answered. Wired it up and noticed a slight difference in bass response and SPL. So read what your saying.
