wiring harness

Oh lawdy!
finally getting my pioneer 3000ib back today after i tried to connect it and it didn't work.

the guy told me that i had connected a hot wire to something and i blew the board..

this could be because i did not know that you were not supposed to connect all of the wires together //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

so i want to do it right this time and i was wondering what wires do i not connect??

If it's the right one, it's just a matter of matching up all the colors of the harness you bought to the on that goes to the back of the radio. The instruction manual on the harness you bought might tell you which colors match up with which speakers. You could just take it to BB or CC and have them do it. Will cost you like 40-50 bucks. That way you avoid messing it up again.

Not many here will know what to tell you without knowing what car

the guy that fixed the HU said that some of the wires didnt need to be connected,

not sure which ones he said in the email but will tell you guys them when i am out of school.

so the remote wire is just connected to the headunit and not the wiring harness.
and yes it is the car in my sig

1997 Buick Riviera
sometimes you need it because there is a factory amplifier.

not sure about your car but just to be on the safe side connect it to both the harness and the wire going to your amp.

or you can always just plug in the car harness and see if there's a remote wire on the other side of the plug where the remote wire should be. if theres no wire there then you dont need to connect it.
