ok i searched and found mixed answers, do i really need the expensive *** 80 dollar harness for my '01 malibu or will the saturn metra one work and not damage my ECU in the long run? anyone whos installed an aftermarket deck in the same car or similar? lemme know wsup cause 5 bucks is alot better than spendin 80 just to save some annoying as warning chimes.

You can use the cheap harness, but not the Saturn one. Use a Metra 70-2300. You'll need to find an alternate source for key-switched power; I typically use the heavy brown wire at the ignition harness, accessable at the back of the radio cavity on the left. Be sure to put a fuse on it.
