Wiring harness question

I have an 03 Mitsu Eclipse. The car striped, they took the the aftermarket HU, amp, rims/tires.

Anyway I finally got a new system that Im going to install. I was about to put the new HU in today but all I found was the ground and remote wires and the 3 sets or RCA cables that I had on the previous HU. All that stuff was professionally installed 2 yrs ago.

My new HU has a harness that seems simple enough. I dont have to wire the speakers since all those wires are running from the speakers to the hatch area were the amps were. All have to hook up from the new wiring harness is the red and yellow, however there are no red and yellow wires there for me to hook up to. There are 2 harnesses there that use to connect to the factory HU. One is large and one small. Both have red and yellow wires. I seem to remember that yellow wire is supposed to have a 15a fuse. Neither of the yellow wires has a fuse on it not even the harness that came with new HU.

My question is, is there an after market wiring harness that can hook my new hu to the existing harness. I image there was one there before because when they pulled the HU out they didnt cut any wires except for the ground.

Do I need to hook up a power line from the HU direct to the battery? By doing this will my HU turn off when I turn off the car?

Since all you need are the two power cables and the ground, save your self the money on a harness and just use a multi tester. Use your existing ground wire, and (with the key off) touch each wire at a time. If you find one giving you power with the key off, thats the yellow, or continuos power. Now turn the key on and touch the rest of the wires individually until you find a winner. This is the red, or main power. Now cut and splice these to your HU.

If you hook it up, and the unit doesnt turn on, try to insert a cd. If the CD goes in, then your continuous power is good. But if the unit doesnt come on or a CD go in or eject, check everything again.

If the unit powers on and off with the ignition key, keep the red right there. If you loose your presets and clock everytime you turn it off, check that continous wire.

Dont worry about wasting 20 bucks for a harness thats only gonna be used for power, do it this way and you'll get to know your car a lot better too. Good Luck.
