wiring harness needed?

i was talking to a salesman from crutchfield and they said that i dont need the wiring harness if i replace the headunit and the speakers in my car. is that true?

not if you hardwire it...

but its a good idea to use one

He is right, but a harness makes things a hella lot easier. (Most the time)

you would be better off buying one since it makes installs easier, more wire to work with, more forgiving if u mess up.
