sup...i got a am/fm reciever playing treble in my roomand this amp has a lot of power at 8 ohms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif ...it had burnt 4 of my tweets with 2 pairs wired in parallel...which means the 2 channels put out 4 ohms since each tweet were 8 ohms...the back of the amp said dont use speakers less than 8 ohms...so i guess thats why they burns...they are 250wpeak each...i replaced the diapraghms and before i hook them up again i wanna know what can i do to stop them from burning again as this was the 3rd time they burnt...and the diapraghms aren't cheap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif ...and these tweets are rather old...like 9 or 10years old...they are nippon america ntx-3000...what can i do...help plz.

um...the amp's volume nob goes up to 10units....i dont put it louder than 2...cause 2 is good enough...and it doesn't have too much equipment backing it up...its connected to an equalizer and straight to my comp...and the tweets are professional titanium

Obviously 2 is too much power if you're fryin em, the ONLY way speakers "fry" is sending too much power to them.

this amp also fried my cuz's 2 500wrms each tweets...i dont really think it put out that much power into one channel...cause his 2 tweets are 4ohms and were wired in parallel to make the 8ohms...

but i see where you're coming from...what can i do to reduce the power???

500wrms tweeters...holy mother of God. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

What kind of speakers are these, it sounds like the crossovers need to be worked on, or at least modified to roll off the power going to the tweets.

hahaha...they are titanium bullet tweeter...i think with a 3"dipraghm...very loud...used for professional apps...

anyways...i dont have a crossover in my room...but on the system...i have an EQ and a pre amp...and this amp is only set to the EQ

Perhaps they're blowing because they're Pyramid?

Those can't handle 500wrms...I'd put money on it.

I'd get a set of "real" speakers, or build them using good parts. Guarantee you won't blow them if you select the right stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and no its not bacause they are pyramids...i know that pyramid aint too good...but there is another guy with 2 of these and he runs them off of a qsc amp...and they never blow...

i seriously wonder why

cause they are use for pro apps
You're confusing the heck out of me here. First you said you wanted to fix a system for your bedroom, now you say they're used for pro sound...which is it?

In home, there's no way you need 500wrms going to your tweeters. No way.

What are you running for the midrange/midwoofers in the system? You can't just listen to tweeters...
