wiring batteries

I just got an optima yellow top for my stereo, I already have a starting battery in the rear (just a regular 500 cranking amp battery) and its in the rear because i have a battery relocation. I was going to wire the optima yellow top in parallel with my existing battery, but optimas website says you can not do that. What should i do? I have a 150 amp alternator..

Yea parallel with eachother, but not parallel with a totally different non deep cycle battery, thats what they mean. So has anyone ran a yellow top parallel with a regular non deep cycle starting battery and it has lasted a long time for them?

It will work if you parallel a YT to a flooded batt, but you will void your YT warranty and you will also shorten the lifespan of both batteries.

Cliffs, if it voids your warranty, it is not a good idea.
