Wiring and Different Brands?

This is just a curiousty question I suppose...

Sometimes I hear people say where you get your wires, be it power cable, speaker wire, rcas whatever. That it doesnt really matter where you get them, its all the same.. I find this hard to be true.. Its got to make some difference in the brands..

So the two questions I have are, how much holds true?

As well as what different companys products have you enjoyed using?

theres a difference in quality or whatnot , peoel say they are all the same because alot of people cant really tell a diff with thier small everyday systems, but the higher up you go the more it matters
