Wiring a sub in parallel with rear speakers

I would like to add a small sub to the sound system in my Wrangler. It has 2 5 1/4" Infiniti Kappas in the dash and 6 3/4" Kappas in the sound bar wired to an Alpine PDX 4.150 amplifier. I would like to add a 6 1/2" sub but the Jeep was only wired for 4 speakers. I am thinking about wiring the sub in parallel before the rear speakers with Y splitters. Can anyone tell me if my plan shown in the attached image is correct and what pitfalls I should look for? Thanks

your diagram is incorrect, both positive and negative will go into each coil from left and right.

the additional speaker will produce the same signal as the rears, but poorly. you'll want a low pass filter (series inductor) on the woofer to filter out the mids and highs.

your plan can add more midbass punch.

a MUCH better plan is to combine the front and rear speakers on the front two channels (in parallel) and dedicate the rear amp channels to the sub. this way you can use onboard crossovers to let each play cleaner, louder.

Thanks. I've decided to forgo this plan and keep it simple. I just purchased a Kenwood X801-5 which I will use for my existing system. Later on, I'll get another mono amp if I decide to add another sub.
