wiring a deck - heat shrink or electrical tape??

So my neighbor wants to install an alpine deck.
Im gonna solder his harness and wanted to ask, do you guys prefer heat shrink or electrical tape??

Or f*** it and just crimp it?
Honestly, if I have the time ahead... like when I'm watching TV or something... I'll scotchlock the two harnesses together real good. If I just get a deck handed to me and say here you go, install it... then I'll prob just electrical tape it. That sh*t ain't really goin' anywhere.

Heatshrink is neater and more secure. If you have the extra time and you're willing to do it, go for it.

After installing hundreds of head units with solder/electrical tape, I've never had one come back due to an installation issue. You'll be just fine either way.

I would do crimp terminals way before electrical tape. Heat just turns that stuff to nasty goo and will usually start to peel off. Solder + Heatshrink would be the best though.
