Wiring a 2000 Watt amp

if it really puts out 2kw and you wire it up to the battery with 8awg you're going to neuter it.....and if you don't fuse it properly, you'll probably catch something on fire. For an amp that size, i'd go with 0/1AWG wire from the battery to a distro block, then 4AWG to the amp.

naw, j/k

2awg to the amp should suffice. 1/0 to the amp is beyond excessive unless it has a current draw of over 300A.
didnt know jensen had anything like that...

LOL

JUNK!!!

Allrighty...Rating: 500 rms x 2 at 4 ohms -- let's be nice and say it's going to put out an actual 400 x 2

At 2 ohms, MAYBE it will get you 600x2 (or 1200x1 bridged @ 4 ohms). That's best case cenario.

Personally I think 4 ga. (properly fused) would cover you, assuming you don't have an enormous length of power wire. At least 4 is what I'd use. If you blow an 80 or 100A fuse you know you need to upgrade.
